Pig Trap.
As well as Feral Pigs being very dangerous animals , they cause a lot of Environmental damage damaging crops, fences, attacking and eating small livestock on the Farms, and carrying diseases. They are a big problem here in Australia. There are a couple of ways to deal with Pigs, one is to carry out Aerial Shooting which is effective in harder to access areas, another is Poison Baits, and the third one is to use Pig Traps. My own preference is for either Shooting or Traps, because it is more humane to kill the Pigs this way. With Poison Baits, the animal will suffer for as long as a day before eventually dying, and the poison can also harm other animals that come to feed on the carcass, such as Eagles.
With the Trap, a Kangaroo carcass is placed in the Trap. The entrance hatch is opened and held up by a stick. As Pigs move into the Trap, and start to feed on the Carcass, they trip the gate shut by dislodging the stick, and they are then trapped inside. The Farmer then comes around the next day to check the trap, and shoots any pigs inside the trap.
Here are some Feral Pigs that have been shot. One day after i took this photo, these dead Pigs had been eaten by other Wild Pigs, and there was nothing left.

What do you call a pig with a rash?
Ham and eczema.:)
smart and simple, hope you have tasty bacon burgers party :)
Because the feral pigs eat dead animals, they don't taste good, so we don't eat them.
@ctrl-alt-nwo,

Oh my god ! sad story. thanks for your post.100% like and resteem
Seems like this pig problem can only be contained, never eliminated.
@ctrl-alt-nwo - The pig problem looks like a major issue for farmers. And I don't think those traps can eliminate them Sir. Nice story & excellent photography. Therefore, I wish to ReSteem your post.
