“Every night we fuss and fight, like Arabs and like Jews.”
I just finished watching a half-hour slugfest between Douglas Murray and Cenk Uygur, which generated far more heat than light. Indeed, it reminded me of a line from a Michael Franks song:
“Every night we fuss and fight, like Arabs and like Jews.”
The funny part is that Uygur is not an Arab and Murray is not a Jew, and they do only halfway-decent imitations of real Israelis and real Palestinians.
There are far more knowledgeable and just as articulate real representatives of the parties to this conflict who could have debated the issues, and they could have done so without all the mean-spirited ad hominem attacks launched by both Murray and Uygur.
Piers Morgan, please tell the people who book guests for your show that they need to do a much better job of selecting participants!
