Southern Praying Mantis
I've seen several pictures on here of different species of Praying Mantis. I'm really not a big fan of bugs, but I have tremendous respect for them. I stand in awe at their presence and unmatched hunting abilities. I believe they fall in the class of 'ambush predator', using their amazing patience and camouflage to ensnare their victims. This day, I give you my friend, the Southern Praying Mantis, as it graces my presence and I allow it safe passage.
Poor guy.
Soon he'll find him a nice lady with great big assets and she'll let him take advantage of her and then she'll bite his head off before he finishes.

I like the praying mantis. Have since I was a kid. Used to watch them all the time.
Me too! The numbers around here have gone up the past decade or so, so they're seen more often...and I'm not complaining. They eat so many other bugs I really do not have a taste for :p
I don't see them as much anymore. I'm not sure if its cause there's less or im not paying attention. lol
So peaceful and beautiful. Until she gets her fix then its off with their heads!!
