Random shots and thoughts - expat style

When I wader around Thailand I am commonly faced with things that seem a bit "strange" to me but I'm not judging, it is just a bit different than one would expect "back home" if home happens to be a Western country.

Here are some random shots from what I found yesterday.

That looks like a stuffed animal or a cutesy backpack but I can assure you, it is a real animal. It was a really friendly animal actually it didn't mind being pet at all. It was a bit strange because the owner didn't seem too pleased with having it's dog pet so i guess I crossed a line. As soon as I got a strange look I stepped off. However, it kind of begs the question of "why did you do this if you don't want people to interact with your extremely cute living backpack."

They love their cutesy stuff in this country and I for one am for it. We are a bit too serious in the West and I dig the playful attitude of even professional places like a bank, which is where this window decal was found.

A milk vending machine. This might be normal where you are from but it certainly isn't for me. I did not purchase anything plus I had no idea there were so many different types of milk.

This sign only seems a bit out of place because of the fact that it is in Thailand and not just everyone can speak or read English.. I know that if the situation was reversed and it was just written in Thai I would be a bit confused as to what is going on here. This wasn't a public park or anything either, it was just some random alleyway next to a shopping mall. I also didn't see any dogs around nor is it a popular place to bring your dogs since it is just cement and busy roads.

I guess it isn't for me to understand.
