Trying out the new phone's camera on Nadi

in #pics2 years ago

I am one of those guys that doesn't pay a great deal of attention to having a top end smartphone. If we didn't absolutely need them in order to get taxis and the fact that almost no one I know communicates via phone calls anymore I would probably just get one of those cheap Nokia brick phones whose battery lasts for 2 months off of once charge. I really wish they would make one of those that had some sort of limited functionality as a smartphone without all the pitfalls that come along with having an actual smartphone.

When I purchased my new Samsung A03, which is one of the cheapest smartphones in existence right now, the decision was made solely upon the fact that it was the only phone in the display area that was compatible with one of my sim-cards. I didn't even look at the specs.

My reasoning was that since my old phone that recently kicked the bucket after years of abuse and neglect wasn't a nice phone when it was brand new so I figured that no matter what this cheap phone had as far as power was concerned, it was going to be an improvement upon what I had grown accustomed to.

I am not the kind of person that takes a ton of pictures of anything really, but I can't resist when it comes to my doggie-friend, Nadi. We had a strange day the other day where half of the town didn't have electricity so we had a little photo shoot.

This is the look she gives me anytime i say "you wanna (insert whatever here)." Unless those last words are "take a bath" the answer on her part is always yes. This is particularly true if I get the leash and her harness out so we can go outside and bark at stuff.

Nadi is a "table doggy" because she doesn't know how small she is. She routinely starts trouble with other, larger dogs and opens cans of worms that she doesn't possess the skills or size to handle. She also is severely lacking in traffic smarts and Vietnam is an absolutely terrible place for a dog that doesn't understand how the streets work. She would be smushed in a matter of hours if I didn't keep her in line. Here on the front porch she has an air of superiority though.

Like any older dog, she struggles to stay awake for more than a few minutes in a row and even when I take her to places that are filled with her human friends, she normally will scope the place out, go say hello to a few people, beg for food for a bit, then find a place to lie down. The one bar we went to had too many people at it for her to simply lie down in the entrance like she normally does, so we put her on a top of a barrel at the entrance.

Out of all the pictures that I took this was the only one that I think kind of shows the limitations of a cheap phone. I didn't turn the flash on but you can see that in low light, this $100 phone simply isn't going to be capable of producing good results. I can say without question, that alleviating this problem is not something I would ever spend extra hundred of dollars, or even a thousand dollars on like my friends with their fancy phones do on a regular basis.

If this means that I miss out on having crystal clear sharp pics every now then, so be it. I'll use my extra $900 on dog treats because that is importanter.
