I wonder if the space agencies own aluminum for the same reason I would use it? ..as a field shield that drains to a powered virtual zero, ground.
I suspect that ground points for malfunctioning lunar landing craft circuitry may have shared a connection to structural aluminum. Aluminum might be the finest receptor of fields, either non-cyclic/flux.
