Photo Essay - Life at (2) Zoos in Melbourne Australia
So I'm heading to Kenya and Tanazania in about a month or so and in preparation I've been spending some time at the zoos of Melbourne getting used to taking photos of animals, obviously these aren't wild but it's the best practice I'm going to get with 20 minutes of my house.
The camera I'm using is the realitvely new Fujifilm X-T3 and the lens is the 55-200mm mid range zoom, as the Fujifilm is a smaller sensor this means effective maximum zoom is 300mm, which is just passable for Africa I think. I shot manual, generally high shutter speed and wide open.
Any feedback is welcome, I feel I'm documenting the animals fine, but struggling to tell a story with these - so a bit of work to do in the next month.

A different lion @Werribee - the weird bokeh effect is caused by the fence in front of the lion.
You've done a great job on these wonderful photos from the zoo. I love the shot with the zebras, side-by-side, like a mirror image almost.
