Ghoomar dance from Udaipur and Kalbeliya dance of Jaisalmer has received international recognition. Folk music is an important part of the Rajasthani culture. Examples of traditional Rajasthani culture are Puppetry, Bhopa, Chang, Tharathali, Ghind, Kachchhori, Tejjaji etc.

In all the Rajasthani folk dances, Ghoomar, Puppet and Kalbelia dance attracts many tourists. Rajasthani folk dance has originated from different tribes and was primarily used to entertain Rajo. Chari dance is one of the popular folk dances in Rajasthan. This dance describes the art of collecting water in a queen or vessel by Rajasthani women in her everyday life. In Chari dances, women hold a stripe or vessel on their heads and then a burning lamp is placed in a vessel.

The famous Chari dance belongs to the Gujjar community of Kishangarh and only women perform in this dance. These women take bronze utensils on their heads, so that they are balanced for perfection. These utensils are kept ignited with oil seeds immersed in oil. These illuminating utensils display beautiful effects in the dark night.
