Taiwan's Shilin Night Market
Taiwan's night markets are "famous". They are truly some of the best in the world.
Night markets in Taiwan are extremely popular. They are a place to grab dinner, a place to socialize, to bring the kids, to shop, to find a significant other, etc. The list really does go on...
Each night market in Taiwan is a little different. There are some that are more geared towards food, some that are better for electronics, some for Korean fashion clothing - you go to the one that matches what you need, or possibly the closest one, depending.
Shilin Night Market
Unfortunately I didn't take photos of the many other markets I visited while living in Taiwan. However, the photos below are from Taipei's largest night market, Shilin Night Market. The Shilin Night Market is famous for it's variety, size, and food vendors. You really can find just about anything at this market.

That face is priceless
Games, games, and more games - they're everywhere
No, this isn't Times Square, it's the largest night market in Taipei
Looks almost like a busy downtown in a city, however it's much different. You can walk between those buildings and into small pop-up shops, there are cart vendors and much more. It's a huge maze of people and stores.
Don't forget about the food - it's all about the food!
It's "street food", but it's good!
You can even get your fortune told
If you ever get the chance to visit Taipei, Shilin Night Market is a must! The other night markets in Taipei are great as well, but Shilin will give you a real experience. Every night market has it's own character, they're all a treat.
I had visited Taipei (and of course Shilin Night Market!) several years ago while I was still in college. These pictures definitely bring back some nice memories.
Haha, awesome @mj86 - great memories for myself as well. I lived about 10 min up the road from there in Tianmu.
