My stars of Geneva International Motor Show 2018

in #photos6 years ago (edited)

Before Geneva International Motor Show goes public, here are my most favorite cars. List in order of no priority or the size of any wallet. More photos will come soon:

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Yes, it's one of the run-out specials before current generation of 911 is replaced and most of the range goes hybrid, but damn it feels special and looks the business with the roll cage installed and killer color:

And this dying analogue feeling inside no LCD panel will ever replace:

Toyota Supra

Long teased and awaited car features in a form of a racer, no street version still available. Developed together with new BMW Z4 gathered noticeably more crowds compared to its sister car at BMW stand. This may be no surprise considered legend it was. However still remains to be seen if Toyota will position the car special enough to live up the expectations. Slight worries over here.

Toyota Auris

Yes, it's new Toyota Auris. Slighty too simple and too regular in comparison it may be, but most interesting is the heart of the car. It features completely new 2.0 liter hybrid engine which Toyota praises for efficiency and power. Safe bet it will be offered in Prius with its first facelift.

RUF SCR

Damn, its special. More photos here:

Ford Mustang Bullitt

I like it, I really do. 475 bhp and comes to UK. Regular Mustang is real muscle car. You buy it and modify to tailor to your personal needs. Exhaust, sound system, suspension, power - you name it - all is left with room for customization (read - improvement). However this one feel special as it is:

Land Rover Range Rover SV Coupe

Opinions will differ. Supercharged V8 and 999 lucky customers only. I love it.

Brabus Rims

Mercedes Benz offers similar design on S class Maybach versions and Brabus has a good taste in extending application. To my personal taste, those are the best design rims in the market today:

Merces Benz A class

One of the premier for the actual mass buyers. A45 with 400hp will join the line up later on, but for now this is the car for the most. It's really one of the best compact premium offerings in the market and I'm glad Mercedes Benz continues with their approach.

Honda Urban EV

This is possibly a big one. It's still in concept stage with plans to go to production in 2019. If Honda doesn't mess it up with the production version, I truly believe this is the first EV with real chances becoming cult car ones VW Beatle was for the masses. Imagine it slammed on those rims. It has a couch instead of two individual seats in the front, doesn't pretend to integrate the front LCD screens and leaves them exposed. This is one of my favorites and I will write a separate post on it.

Renault Megane RS

There were hopes Renault will make it to be able to compete with Golf GTI which is still considered to be a benchmark of hot hatches. I can't wait to drive it, but first stationary impressions are lovely exterior in metal, small rear passenger space and unfortunately questionable interior materials quality.

Jeep Wrangler

It's actually the New Wrangler. And there's something special about it. Simple, robust, not overpriced. Defender is currently not available and remains to be seen if rumor is true that Land Rover will add much more modern technology compared to the car it replaces. If that's the case, chances are Jeep will remain in its marked without any direct competition. Sales in Europe to be introduced soon.

Mercedes Benz G class

Respect to Mercedes Benz for keeping G class alive. It's now aluminum, a bit larger, safer and being able to fit lineup of modern Mercedes Benz engines. But what about those LED headlamps? Do you consider square and round to blend well together?
