Incidentally, while at the park with my kids, a suzumebachi buzzed by and wanted to play with us. No matter how many times I see those guys, I am surprised by how huge they are. You should try to get some closeups of them next ;)

Suzumebachi are legitimately scary, and kill people every year; takes more than one though! Biggest wasp in the world!
I'll get some shots if I can find a freshly dead one, which should be appearing in the fall as they succumb to the colder temperatures.

It's a big bee and not very aggressive, very different from a wasp or hornet.
