Since that monolith is named Castle Mountain, the Bow River that flows beneath it would be its moat, right?
If you've noticed a trend, you're right. I do the water-in-foreground, mountain-in-background thing a lot. I can't help it, I like water, mountains and this kind of composition too much to avoid it. This particular example came after the Bow River decided to grow a layer of what might be called pack ice. I came here hoping for Aurora (and I got that too), but the sunset was better.
That's some awesome light. I love the blue tones in the snow, makes for a great color contrast
