서대문 형무소 역사관 [Seodaeman Prison History hall]

서대문 형무소 역사관.

현장학습으로 수많은 학생들이 다녀오는 곳입니다.

약 15년전, 고등학생 시절 저도 현장학습이라고 왔던 기억이 있습니다.

더 어렴풋한 기억으론 당시에 친구들과 놀고 장난치기에 바빴습니다만...

그리고 초등학교 저학년 시절과 20대 초중반사이, 상당기간 근처에 살았습니다만

개인적으로, 자력으로 가보질 않았습니다.

아이러니하게도 서울 바깥으로 이사하고 나서야 가게 되었네요.

일제치하 우리 조국의 통일과 군부독재하 민주화를 위해 희생을 각오한 수많은 영웅들의 흔적과 고통을

간접적으로나마 체험할 수 있는 공간이라 생각합니다.

Seodaemun Prison History Hall

It is the place where countless students go to learn on site.

About 15 years ago, when I was a high school student, I also remember being in the field.

As a more vague memory, I was busy playing and playing with my friends at the time, but ...

And I lived in the middle of elementary school when I was in the lower grades and in my 20s, but personally, I didn't go there myself.

Ironically, I didn't get to go until I moved out of Seoul.

It is a place to indirectly experience the traces and suffering of numerous heroes who have sacrificed themselves to unify our country under the Japanese colonial rule and to democratize the military

사담을 곁들이자면, 서대문 형무소 역사관 맡은편에는 '옥바라지 골목'이라는

역사의 흔적이 서려있는

수감인들의 가족들이 머무르던 골목이 있었습니다만

지금은 10수억이 넘는 대단지 아파트가 들어서 있습니다.

개발도 중요하지만, 우리의 지나온 흔적들이 하나 둘 씩 사라지는 것을 보면 안타까움을 금치 못합니다.

And I want to add one more story.

There was an alley on the other side of Seodaemun Prison History Hall where the families of prison people called Okbaraji Alley were staying because of the traces of history.

Now, there is over one billion won in a large apartment complex.

Development is important, but I can't help but feel uneasy when I see our passing traces disappear one by one.

사형장 입구 입니다.

사형장 안 사진촬영이 금지되어있습니다. 너무나 무거운 분위기로 가득 차 있는 공간이었습니다.

It's at the death row.

Photography on death row is forbidden. It was a space filled with a very heavy atmosphere.

사형장 외벽을 사이에 두고, 바깥 쪽과 안 쪽에 같은 시기 사진에 보이는 나무가 심어졌다고 합니다.

사진이 작아 제대로 보이지 않지만, 왼쪽 나무는 오른쪽 나무의 반 정도 밖에 자라지 못했습니다.

형장의 이슬로 사라진 수많은 사람들의 한이 서려 자라지 못했다는 이야기가 있죠.

The wall of the death row was placed between them, and trees were planted on the inside and outside at the same time.

The small picture makes it hard to see, but the tree on the left grew to only half the tree on the right.

There is a story about the fate of the millions of people who were executed.
