City on Ruins
Here is a shot of the modern city of Minneapolis that exposes an area built up on top of an old flour mill. The mill had exploded during a catastrophic accident in 1878. In the busy mill, a lone spark ignited the flour dust in the air and 18 people died in the event.
The site is now a historic monument and thus the city built up around it, and in some cases above it. Over a century of decay, erosion, and overgrowth have taken its toll and now mere rubble and incomplete substrates are all that are left of it.
