Usually the sky becomes too bright, or other areas are too dark. I use the cameras Exposure compensation value icon to dial in the shutter speed, iso and sometimes aperture. I try to leave the aperture completely closed to get the most light in otherwise I see weird peripheral artifacts in the shots.
