Swapmeet Finds #3141
Today, we'll start working our way through about 100 old photos found in a big fat photo album that had a label on the outside "EDIE'S FAMILY". Thankfully, most of the pictures inside were arranged chronologically and several of them had date-stamps on them and/or handwritten notes on the back.
This very old (circa 1910-ish) and damaged picture was on the first page. In it, we see the patriarch and matriarch of the family, Guiseppe and Anna Parziale. I presume that's their first child with them - first of 13 children!
This second picture gives a very good history of them!
And here's a certified copy of Guiseppe's birth certificate from 1887!
Oh man, its a historic evidence!

This is family gold! Have you ever thought about entering some of this information into Ancestry dot com? There are relatives that would be excited to find them.
I actually found a family member - thanks to a 10-year-old email address in the back of the album! So I'm in the process of getting the album back to them. First time I've ever managed to do that. :-)
That's amazing! Are they in Massachusetts? I did a quick Ancestry search and it looked like it.
Yeah, I think most of them still are. But the one I found directed me to the original 90-year-old owner (Aunt Edie), who is still here in California. So I'm making arrangements to get it back to her. It somehow got lost in the shuffle when she moved into a managed care facility and sold everything else in her house.

I've literally found 1000s of old photos (that's why we're on post #3141). Hardly ANY of them have enough clues to track down anybody. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or resources to play private investigator. Too busy trying to survive. Lucked out on this one.
I hear that. If you have any that are particularly nice, like portraits, you could try a Google reverse image search. Anyway, it's a really cool thing you're doing.
