Swapmeet Finds #2811

in #photography6 years ago

Finally (for today), a couple pics of Jeanette's little brother Clark, all dressed up for his Junior-Senior Prom. And even though these pictures depict happy times, they also foreshadow sadness. Included with this cache of Ray and Jeanette's photos, there were several clues indicating that Clark had died rather young. And in this last batch of photos, I happened upon a picture of his grave stone (which we'll see later). It shows that he died on June 30, 1952 - mere days or weeks after these 2 pictures were taken. For all we know, these may be the very LAST pictures of Clark. There were no clues as to how he died. But I'm thinking it must've been an accident of some sort. He seemed too healthy have any physical problems. Anyway, that's the sad part. :-(

I'd like to think that Clark enjoyed his prom and his friends will always have that memory.

I'm sure that's the case. There were literally several dozen flower cards from the funeral saved in an envelope. Seems like he was a very popular guy...
