Swapmeet Finds #2478
Now it's off to black & white land we go! As with the Geersen/Reinhold/Fanning horde, this big box of Ray & Jeanette photos was also ALL mixed up. No rhyme or reason. Well, not much anyway. Best I could do was make a feeble attempt at organizing them based on black & white versus color. We'll look at the black & white ones first. That way, we should at least start out with (mostly) older photos and slowly work our way forward to the more modern land of color.
That said, these first few black & whites were particularly neat (IMHO). All of the next 6 pictures were on one small GLASS plate negative, circa 1900! And they were all diamond-shaped photos like this. I somehow managed to get halfway decent scans of them on my crumby old flatbed scanner. No notes on the glass, so I have no idea whose ancestors these might be (Ray or Jeanette's). I'm guessing Jeanette's. Just something about the faces and eyes seems to resemble her (and her daughter). I'm probably way off. But they're still very cool pictures!
good filtration used in black and white.
