67 ° C below zero !!
When you see the frost in someone else ... you may have the frost you feel in Canada or usa !!

In Uyimukun village in Russia's Yakutia region, one of the most inhabited places on the planet, Russian television showed that mercury fell to the bottom of the thermometer, which was originally designed to measure temperatures up to 50 degrees below zero.

The temperature in this region was 71 degrees Celsius in 2013.

In Yakutia, which has a million inhabitants and is about 5,300 kilometers east of Moscow, students routinely go to school even when the temperature is outside -40 degrees Celsius.

But schools were closed Tuesday across the region, and police ordered parents to keep their children indoors.

Last weekend, two men were frozen to death when they tried to walk to a neighboring farm after their car was broken.
Investigators said three other men survived because they were dressed in warm clothes.

The information office of the governor of Yakutia said today that all houses and companies in the area equipped with central heating devices are constantly working and connected to backup power generators.

Residents of the region seem to be very familiar with the cold, so low temperatures in a large format such as today did not find their way to news headlines.

These are Sylvie's photographs taken by Anastasia Grozdeva on Sunday when temperatures were below 50 degrees Celsius in Russian Yakutsk.

Thank You melip

god knows how you are tolerating freezing temperatures. nice photography by the way

Sooo cold! I do a lot of winter running and did a frozen 50k this past weekend where my eyelashes froze. They were not quite as coated with ice as those in the pictures though. It is a very odd feeling!

No way Jose. Maybe it'd be worth visiting for a day just to experience the cold. Anything more than that would be nuts!

It's amazing how the wildlife there is able to adapt and survive.
