I used to live near a steel bridge that crossed this river which is used as part of a biking/walking path that cuts through the southern stretch of town. The river runs from east to west, so if you're lucky you can catch awesome sunsets from this spot. Sights like this are very common there. In fact, the only oddity of this image is that he was the only one in it. It's usually not that quiet.

Stunnig photo, well done! I have been to the Buffalo and many other bodies of water around the Ozarks, but the James is one I have yet to venture. It is one of my fiance's favorite fishing spots, he always does well and the scenerey (such as your photo!) is uncomparable. Thanks for sharing! I will make it one day to see this :)

I really like the muted sky contrasted with the deep blue + green of the river. Did you edit to achieve this?
The guy paddling also draws focus really well, turning an otherwise ordinary view into something that everyone can see themselves enjoying!
