Double Exposure PhotosteemCreated with Sketch.

in #photography10 years ago (edited)

I posted this about 4 months ago, but I figured I'd toss it out there again to see what the response would be.
This is a double exposure we created for one of our brides about 3 years ago. Below it is the original image.

This is a 100% Power Up post.

This is excellent.

You also seem to be creating the practice to be able to repost older Steemit material. Which I think is a good thing.

Thank you. And yes, I do tend to repost things now and again. The environment seems different each time, and when I go back to revisit them, I feel like I can kind of sense whether or not recycling any given post feels appropriate. I've reposted a very select few things more than twice, but I try to keep the rule of thumb of no more than twice.

Thank you. :)
I really feel like I need to do more stuff like this.

I love double exposures, Photoshop and blending modes = great pictures!

Very good edit!
SteemOn :)

The effect looks like she has a full body tattoo, cool~
I'm hesitant to re-post....hmm dunno if it's good practice or not

I've spoken in passing with a few different people about the reposting topic, and most seem to feel that a repost is acceptable in a lot of cases, especially if the original post is well over it's 30-day payout, as well as if you feel it didn't get a fair shake the first time around. This is what led to me to post a few of them a third time. After that, I feel like I've given it the best possible chance and I risk crossing over into spamming territory. But with the way this community (obviously not EVERYBODY) seems to really only focus on the most current content, rather than spending much time going back and looking at old posts from others, a lot of stuff gets buried. Perhaps there's nothing wrong with churning some of it back up from time to time.

Great photo, appreciate your talent. Thanks for the post, and conversation. I've always wondered about this practice...if it's more or less acceptable or not. I'm a relatively new "Monthie" on here... is there somewhere to actually read about this practice on Steemit?

I like reposts, it gives you a chance to see great things that were missed, usually due to time constraints of continual creativity/everyday life-reality. I think that is the main reason for folks not doing alot of visual archeology. Time.
But I greatly enjoy going back to old posts when discovering a new person. Fun and rewarding to see what they have created, and to get a feel for who they are. A real "goldmine" of creative variability...which is what this site is all about.

It would be nice if each post you spent alot of time on was a hit, but I suppose that is the nature of art, creativity and this format. Lot's of people, lots of new posts .
I sort of rambled back to my point there, I like the repost, gives you a chance to see good content that you might have missed, due to that life stuff. Just had to put in my 3 cents worth here. Thanks, Full Steem ahead.

I think the topic of reposting old material is an important one.
Many of my old posts were created as evergreen posts. Many didn't even make a penny. As much as I'm tempted to repost some of them, I won't because it is actually a form of self-plagiarism.
To be on the safe side, I prefer to write a new post and link back to the old one. That serves a few purposes: Keeps the plagiarism and spam bots away. Creates back links therefore better for search ranking.

Writing a new post is something I definitely try to do when I post material again, particularly to mention up-front that I've posted it before so as to remove any question marks.

Elegant and intriguing and beautiful! :D

what a beautiful bride.....I would have loved a picture like this. Well done!
