Barrie Spirit Catcher
One of the most recognizable landmarks in Barrie, Ontario, Canada is the Spirit Catcher. This beautiful sculpture is located downtown along the waterfront of Kempenfelt Bay.
I grew up just outside Barrie, and spent my teenage years in Barrie, so this is something I always admired. It was installed in 1987 when I was fairly young so I can’t really remember a time when it wasn’t there. If you ever get the chance to visit Barrie, I highly recommend taking a stroll around the waterfront path!
The Spirit Catcher was created by Canadian Artist Ron Baird. If you live around the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) you may recognize some of his other works: The Dragon Tree at Casa Loma, Charity, the cow, in Markham or Ghost Train in Brampton, just to name a few. Such a talented Sculptor.
Nice shots my dear friend @wierdomagnet. All your pictures look really amazing. Greeting from @chanthasam

I love Kempenfest and Promenade days! My Dad had a business right on Dunlop so I have many good memories :)
