'Appearances'

This one I took in the night. The vase is heavily lit from underneath what gives it a strong expressionist shadow. You probably don't know that the usage of such elements on film was first adopted in 1920ies during the German expressionist movement. I very much appreciate the scary feeling it evokes. The overbearing shadow could be a pathway to many subconscious places.

I kept it in a single tone. The orange-yellowish with a bit of red does the trick and helps the idea well. Notice the grain. I like the imaginary surface structure it provides. However, I've restricted it only to the top part of the frame.

Could be the two characters of a single person, an outer one used for the appearances and a corrupt inner one that fights the good side, eh?
