Bad Homburg - old German City

Steemians, instead of political discussions I am posting instead to Monochrome Monday by @old-guy-photos - some photos from an old town in Germany - Bad Homburg! Bad stands for "Bath" in German and I had the pleasure to visit the city recently during a trip to Frankfurt.

Bad Homburg is located in the Hochtaunuskreis, Germany, and a part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. The city is famous mainly for his casino and its medically used mineral waters and spa, therefore the prefix Bad which means "bath" in English.

The region and the city is one of the wealthiest areas across Germany, Bad Homburg is usually competing with Starnberg near Munich, they use a very interesting marketing claim too "Champagne air and tradition".

Einen schönen guten morgen Uwe. Ich habe mich ein wenig zurückgehalten mit dem kommentieren, zumal ich die letzten Wochen einfach auch wenig Zeit dazu gefunden habe. Aber heute möchte ich Dir sagen, dass Du super Arbeit abliefert hast. Mein persönlicher Favorit ist Bild 1. Denn hier verschwimmt die Sichtweise zwischen Fotografie und Zeichnung. Das ist eine hohe Kunst dem Betrachter nicht sofort zum erkennen zu geben wie und mit was das Bild gemacht wurde. Tolle Arbeit und alles toll in Szene gesetzt.

Dank mein Lieber, das ist nett. Ist auch schwer immer Zeit für Kommentare zu finden, kenn ich nur zu gut. Logo Animation ist interessant, bisserl langsamer wäre für mich alten Sack besser :-)

despite the pictures are black and white, they are more lively than the high resolution colored ones

and, learnt something new Bad stands for "Bath" in German

what is that circular tower for? Can you help me help others help themselves?

you mean the white tower? It is the so called former Bergfried and is one of the landmarks Bad Homburg is known for. The tower is a 14th century's keep of original castle and located in the middle of the castle, and contains a museum these days. Original the tower was used to watch out for enemies, the main fortress for defence and also the former owners lived there as it was difficult to enter the building.

I have to say I love the effect on the top two shots!! The white is so stark and brilliant, it is a very pleasing edit!

Hi mate - no light tower I am afraid but it was used to observe the area and acted as main tower / building of defence for the castle surroundings.

When judging by the iamgenes this is a beautiful community, I love the architecture of the buildings, congratulations dear friend / @ uwelang for the beautiful captures
