Alpine Forests at first Snow - End of Autumn in the Canadian Rockies - 📷 Panoramas
Some more photos as winter is coming in. This was on a hike in Banff National Park near Taylor Lake and O'Brien Lake where it was the first day of snow. Unfortunately a lot of fog blocked the upper mountain views from the forests and it rained for much of the day. A day out in the rain is still better than one in the house though, anyday!!!
The lone last standing Larch tree in this spot.
Its days like this when I'm happy to find some large trees for shelter, where the rain is not getting through them. I set up my day hammock and laid back for a great lunch. Most comfortable chair you can possible bring to the woods! Right??

Nice post. I live in the UK but my brother moved to Canada and has lived in Calgary for over 10 years now. When I go over we always go to Banff , Lake Louise, Sunshine village etc. Beautiful part of the world and only wished i'd moved. Up voted and following

a day outside is better than being inside.....rain or shine...looks like you got yourself a comfie spot to relax and listen to that rain and enjoy the air.....beautiful pics as usual.

Really great photos. The fall is so beautiful - especially with larch. I really like how the small needles of larch cover the ground right underneath the tree. Sometimes there are good mushrooms there. Stay dry and warm!
