One day in... Lubiaz (Poland)

This is my first photostory and a second blog post so I'm a little excited^^

The monastery complex is the second largest sacral building in the world. The roof surface occupies about 2.5 hectares, and the facade length is 223 meters and is the longest baroque facade in Europe. It has over 600 windows.

The monastery was founded in 1150

In 1936 Lubiąż visited Adolf Hitler. During World War II, in the monastery dungeon, the Germans launched the production of V1 and V2 rocket parts, employing prisoners. The monastery was demolished in 1945 by the Russians. When searching for treasures they destroyed the coffins of the Silesian Piasts (they are supposed to have stolen the insignia of the Piast empire - apples, sails, swords). Mummies scattered across the floor.

Since 1989, renovation works have been carried out in the Lubiaz monastery complex

The monastery is about 40km north of Wroclaw.
