Sugar Mosque

Sugar Mosque is located in Syedpur of Nilphamari district of Rangpur Division. The mosque is situated at Syedpur, 21 kilometers away from Nilphamari Sadar. About fifty-five hundred people can pray regularly in the mosque.

In 1863, Haji Muqu and Haji Baker Ali, two local residents, built the mosque with silk and bamboo in the town of Islbag in Syedpur city. Later, the mosque was converted into a tin-house in collaboration with locals. Then people of the area formed a fund to build the mosque. Then started the construction work of the mosque.

In the 1920's, the first part of the mosque was made in the initiative of Haji Hafiz Abdul Karim. In 1965, the second part of the south side of the mosque was ripe.

Nomenclature
To enhance the beauty of the mosque, the glass split and plate fractions are placed on the wall of the mosque. This method is called 'sugar grinder' or 'sugar'. From here, the name of the mosque is known as sugar museum. The ingredients used for beauty were brought from Calcutta. Historical mosque designed by Nabil box and Md. Moktalul.

Craftsmanship
The Mughal architectural style was followed in the construction of the mosque. Many marble stones are used to make mosques. The walls of the mosque are painted with flowers, rose flowers, a flower in a circle, and moon color. There are 27 minarets in the sugar museum. There are 3 large dome with 32 small minarets. The mosque is two-storey. There is a buzzword to give Ajan on the entry path. The mosque has 234 pieces of shark stone. The porch of the mosque paved the white mosaic. The entire shape of the mosque is covered with colored stones. There is a door in the north and south to enter the mosque. There is also a lodging facility for tourists with a building in the double-storeyed mosque.
