Majestic Elephant
I came face to face with a group of wild elephants today. The elephants live in a 2.5 thousand ha animal reserve near Pretoria. They were very curious and came towards the vehicle we were in and took a real interest in us. I was surprised how fearless and relaxed they were. Did you know that unlike most animal species, elephants herds are led by the oldest and largest female, known as matriarch? This elephant is usually the closest relation to the previous matriarch.
