TimTravels - Vienna: Schloss Schoenbrunn + Gloriette

in #photography7 years ago

Welcome my dear Steemian friends to another episode of TimTravels!

I was really overwhelmed by the many comments and positive feedback on my London travel posts. In todays TimTravels episode I have something special for you! I decided to give away one souvenir from each destination to one lucky Steemian!

You will find the description on how to win the giveaway at the bottom

After London it was about time to travel to my next destination: Vienna.
To me there are many similarities between both cities. They have many glorious and historical buildings, both are metropolises with people from all around the world and they have an AAA infrastructure. I could continue with the list but it would become as wide as the ocean.

I started my Journey early in the morning and arrived at 8:25 AM in VIE airport. From there I already knew my destination: Schloss Schoenbrunn. You get there by taking the metro to station U4 Schoenbrunn.

Although it was really early I wasn't the first, there was even a huge crowd already!

After few steps from the metro we arrived at the famous palace Schoenbrunn. I looked beautiful but didn't blow me away. Yet.

This is the palace from the front side. Glorious right? But what didn't blow me away was about to come. The exciting part was yet to explored behind the palace! Are you ready?
For those of you who don't like to walk you can take horse-drawn carriage

Let's get behind that castle!

Right behind the corner awaits you one of the most breathtaking parks I have seen so far. An oasis within a big city. Perfectly cut trees and bushes, colorful flowers, incredible sculptures and statutes and much more!

Inside the park they had a maze and labyrinth. I couldn't resist to check that out. My first time actually. Would you find the way out? There is a simply algorithm on how to get out of every maze! Do you know it?

Dead end, damn!

Positive energy to all you Steemians out there!

Recently one of you asked my if I couldn't upload a picture of myself. Well, here we go! STEEMIAN AT WORK

Fun fact: Did you know that the following Glorinette is the world largest one

Now it's your turn! Win an "I love Vienna" shirt in your size! Tell us what traveling means to you and why you should get that giveaway! Deadline is the 22th of June, 8PM UTC.

Thanks for following my travel posts! If you enjoy them feel free to follow me and resteem! See you next week in another county!

Yours,
Tim

ahahah

Hahah, great! But those are the wrong potatoes!

ahahah! waiting your next post man!!

You made me google that maze algorithm. First time I ever heard of it.
If one of these days I wake up inside of one and manage to get out I already know who to thank for :D
Great photos,Tim.

Ooh thanks for sharing this with us! Oh gosh, I haven't travelled for too long. I really need a vacation this year. I'm really torn though. I'd love to visit Portugal around the Steemfest times, but november is just a bit too late in the year for it to feel like a summer vacation. I also have two other train trips that seems really awesome. One tours three Italian cities and the other tours through Austria and Switzerland. They both seem awesome!

So much to see, so little time and funds! I will do them all one day (just not sure I'll be able to visit Steemfest).

Really, go to Portugal. At that time of the year it's perfect - not too many people around, mild climate, lower prices.

(Not Portuguese, BTW)

I might do, but I'm not sure I can wait that long for a vacation anymore. Plus, my boyfriend also has to enjoy the trip and going on a vacation twice is a bit too pricey :D

You got to go to Amsterdam, such a vibrant and open minded city in so many ways! Oh shit just checked your profile and you are from the Netherlands ahahha

Yes :D It's been years since I last visited Amsterdam though. I was a kid back then. I don't know, it just doesn't appeal to me really. We have big cities up north aswell and some are quite pretty and/or vibrant, so Amsterdam just seems too far for what it's worth (in my head atleast).

Great pictures of Vienna!! Now I want to go there too! ;)

Very nice place i hope can visit some day

Let us know!

@timsaid one of the best photos I have seen this year. You are a legend Sir. Following you :)
I wanted to see your face after seeing this photo.

Keep up good clicks

Come to SteemFest II :)

Oh nice thank you i let you know when i come around ^_^
Hope we can have fun together.

Your photography gets better by the day... That being said, I love the park you took photographs in. Beautiful nature in such a busy city as you said. I am going to Malta this summer. Already counting the days to make photographs of the amazing landscape over there! Actually the first time I will fly this far :)

Please show us Malta then!

I definitely will! Have to wait one month before I go though... In the meantime I will try to shoot other cool stuff :)

Thanks to your photos I am impressed with Schoenbrunn. I'm sure that Nikon has contributed for technically excellent photos, cool camera. Upvote and resteem!

Thanks! I'm impressed by the Nikon :)

I think that I'm a Nikon fan, but I do not know why, I always buy Canon. I really don't know what is my problem:) ...

lol :) I used both.

Cool !!
That labyrinth really looks amazing
Great post @timasid , thanks for sharing

I thank you!

Seems like you are taking full advantage of your camera. That gate and the 2 pillars looks like some entrance to a Pokemon Tournament. And those trees trimmed like Popsicle also looked amazing!

I am waiting on the follow-up about the vienna zoo, that is also part of Schloss Schönbrunn and is the oldest open to the public zoo in the world and one of the best in europe.
