TimTravels - La Ville Lumière: Paris - Part 1

in photography •  last year

Bienvenue mes amis Steemians, bienvenue sur mon nouvel article TimTravels

I actually have no idea if this is correctly written but I gave it a try. Sorry to all French speaking Steemians out there. Speaking of French, in todays TimTravels edition I will take you on a journey through one of the worlds most buzzing metropolis, the City of Light, Paris!

Ever since I got my new Camera I decided to pursuit my passions more actively. I used to love photography und I enjoyed traveling, both however played only a small part in my life. Now, with Steemit some things have changes. I think its time emphasize the importance of what is given here to us.

Before getting to philosophical it's time to show you some of my latest shots! As some of you might have read in yesterday's post @vladikras and I went to Paris. It's was my first time and won't be the last time, that's for sure! Although I come from a big city I was overwhelmed by the fact how busy the streets of Paris are!

We wanted to take an Uber to our hotel but saw pretty quickly that it's pure nonsense and a waste of time being stuck in the traffic. Neither was the metro an alternative option as you can see.

We decided to walk to our Hotel which was located near the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile. We were lucky with the weather as you can see.

What you can see in the pictures above is the Flamme du Souvenir under the arc. It is a symbol for all the fallen people of the first world war that never could have been identified.

Our hotel was only 10 minutes away from the Arc and was quite a nice stay. If you need a good stay near the city center I can recommend you the Hôtel Champerret Elysées.

Let's go out to see more of Paris! Are you ready?

After our first stop at la Tour Eiffel we needed some refreshment. Hands down, who loves ice cream? Probably everyone of us. But did you see this kind of ice cream? Mind = blown!

Tomorrow you will see part 2 of my Paris journey, don't miss it! For all of you Paris lover there is a little quest I prepared. The first who guesses the correct building of which we take a picture in the photograph below will win 5 SBD. Write in the comment what building it is! Good luck

Thanks for following my travel posts! If you enjoy them feel free to follow me and resteem! See you next week in another county! Anything you can recommend?
Yours,
Tim

·

Steemit European Tour :P btw did no one notice the picture of the Eiffel Tower where below a shadow is without a person? No one mentioned it lol

·
·

lol the shoes are still there

·
·
·

Maybe a ghost 👻

·
·

its look like ghost hahah

Nice!

Hello brother @timsaid , I hope you enjoy visiting Paris and filming nice and I wait for the rest of the writing. Thank you for sharing. I like you. I do not speak French, but the language is the way to communicate. We can communicate with the least things. Thank you.
(If you want my help if you vote on my page, anyway) Thank you

·

Bienvenue en France. Follow me and vote for me!

Here is a pic of Tim in the street of Paris!!! by the way great photos I felt like I was there. I want to go right now!!!

·

Ha! I just try to get along with my camera. It's the beginning of a new friendship

·
·

Which camera ?

·
·
·

Woah its very crowded. The hotels are really really nice thou. Mmmmm and that ice cream got my taste buds going, anyone else lol?

·

I could eat that all day long

Tim is the building on the last photo The Arc de Triomphe (Triumphal arch)?

·

Nooope

I am very much impressed with your post :) :) If I say -- what a great post!! -- then this compliment wouldn't be great, I can say amazed, If I would be an English poem writer like William Shakespeare then I will write a poem and believe that poem will be famous :) :) ..... lots of love from my side.

·

Thanks for the kind words! Just trying my best

Maybe it's the Louvre?

·

Chat is down but I was lucky enough to see this in my feed. Great photos. I was in Paris once but I was only 20 and had no money at all. I think I'd appreciate it more if I could actually go to places there lol.

·

Oh I am sure you would spent at least a month in the museum du Louvre since you are a historic teacher lol. Let me know!

Paris, my dream city. Would be there in December. I love these pictures. There is so much beauty in Paris

·

I agree with you. Enjoy your stay there

Your sentence is correct :D ther is no misspellings in!

You took pretty good photographs, I'm french and so I ofently went to Paris which is a really beautiful city. I agree with you, why taking an Uber or the metro when we can walk in the beautifuls streets of Paris.

I hope you enjoyed the first part of your trip. I'm waiting for other photos ;-), have a nice evening here :)

·

Great to hear! Thank you :)

Pantheon?

·

Pantheon (FR. Paris) — historical and architectural monument, a sample of French classicism in the Latin quarter of the 5th arrondissement of Paris, France. The original Church of St. Genevieve, later — the tomb of prominent people in France.
The inscription on the entrance to the Pantheon reads: "to Great men the grateful homeland" (FR. AUX GRANDS HOMMES LA PATRIE RECONNAISSANTE).

·

BINGO!

·
·

Wow! Thank you!

·
·
·

wow! she is so cute! 😍

Paris is on my to do list for sure! I see you spent no expense on making this review, and why should you? :D

Great pictures and commentary as always!

Cheers!

·

Thanks man! I want to see some French beer!

·
·

Haha, I'll make it a mission on my next shopping! Maybe call it 'Timsaid's special' ;)

Those pictures are gorgeous... I've been to Paris with my girlfriend in May and I just have to admit that none of the pictures we took even come close to this. But I did take a picture of the Eiffel Tower at night from a kind of similar angle:

We even tried to take an Uber since the first ride was supposed to be free...
Well in the end we waited for around 20 minutes and the driver canceled because he either didn't find us or he didn't want to get to where we were. In the end we just walked the distance in around 20 minutes and never tried to take an Uber there again.

·

This shot is AMAZING man!

·
·

Thank you! It was one of my favourite shots from our journey aswell.
Mostly taking pictures with my phone since it's faster and easier when you're on the go.
The downsite is that pictures often get a little blurry with bad lighting or when I'm a little to hasty.

Have you been to Versailles btw? The garden is quite beautiful even though I didn't like how crowded this place was to be honest.

Those pictures are amazing @timsaid... That gelato looks like an art masterpiece. I wouldn't want to eat it:/

·

It will melt faster than you can say "INSERT RANDOM WORD HERE"

·
·

HAHAHA I BET!!! One second it looks like art... the next second it is all over my hand lol

Paris is a great city been there several times

And go have dinner at Le Coupe-Chou!

·

Yes. Great place. So romantic.

Great post (followed and upvoted). Paris is a cool place - we visited the summer before last - the segway tour was a lot of fun.

·

Looks great!

·
·

Thanks @timsaid - really appreciate your support.

Great stuff! Enjoy your trip in the City of Light!

I didn't get a chance to stay as long as I wanted in Paris, def will be going back to explore more! Cool pics, I like the one in the underground train station. My favorite place though in Europe was Madrid, you should go there next if you haven't been.

Yet another smashing post! :)

Thanks Tim for a great photo story, really good shots, I see you're not an amateur. :)

Maybe next time you could take us to Bordeaux ? It is said to be the most beautiful French city.

Cheers!

Next time, a drink together.... ;)

I'm not surprised you had problems with the traffic - I've found that in most metropolises it is often better to walk if you are reasonable centrally located. Those ice creams did look good! Looking forward to part 2.

Beautiful pictures! @timsaid I feel like I know Paris Just by looking at your pictures. Thanks for sharing.

·

Have you been there?

·
·

No, I'm planning to visit next year.

Absolutely stunning picture quality. Picture in a picture in a picture of the Eiffel Tower was clever and cool. Even the Gelato has style. That looked like an amazing trip, minus the traffic.

·

Even the traffic was amazing lol

·
·

True, I suppose it depends on how you use the word. Your photos from this trip all have a vintage quality to them. Was that from a setting used on the camera, or from post-editing?

·
·
·

Editing. I try to give my pictures a unique touch. The TimStyle lol

·
·
·
·

Well, they need to make TimStyle a built-in filter on phones. It's perfect.

·
·
·
·
·

I could make a tutorial on my editing soon

·
·
·
·
·
·

You honestly should. The technique is clean. They don't look over worked. Just the right amount of vintage to them, like an editorial style. I look forward to the Paris Part 2 I assume is coming. :-)

·
·

·

In 22 Hours

Enjoy your trip in the City of Love !

·

Thanks! I am already back home

La vie e belle

·

Another great post with really interesting images taken at different angles. The ice creams though....uuuuum. Send me one please. 41 C yesterday in sunny Spain. X

·

41 C? You need more than one

·
·

Sorry meant to put in degree symbol! Better not, you know what they say: A minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips! One will be quite sufficient - Raspberry with vanilla would do it for me. Have a great time in your travels. X

Now, this looks like fabulous fun. It's great to be free to go most anywhere, anytime (lyrics from a Prince song called FREE), isn't it? I'd love to go to Paris. Thanks for sharing. You take such great pics! That's too cool.

Paris is love <3

Wow, Summertime in the city of love. Nice. Thanks for the photos.

·
·

Embarrassing is to not spell at all :P

Your french is good don't worry ;)
Beautiful pictures, going to Paris for a week in 4 days, I'll try to make nice pictures like you!

Keep up the good work

You travel every week? That's so cool! I really recommend my own country, The Netherlands. Also, from what I've seen, I really loved Georgia and Russia! A completely different atmosphere.

·

Every single weekend I fly :)

·
·

Then you are a very lucky person :)

Triumphal arch Carousel. On the left the Louvre, on the right the Tuileries garden.

Your photography is excellent!

Hi Tim. Nice read and great pictures. Which camera are you using?

·
·
·

Excellent choice!! I have the same. :)) Which lens did you used. 24-70?

·
·
·

24-85

·
·
·
·

I twisted between the 24-85 f2.8 and the 85 f1.8 a lot. In the end i chose for the 85 1.8 but your lens looks to deliver very nice quality to. Thanks for your reply. Have a nice day.

·
·
·
·
·

lol. I have the kit lens. 24-85, 3.5-5.6

·
·
·

Wow, subway is so crowded and Eiffel tower as well, it must be tourist season now

I wonder, if you visited Louvre and seen famous Mona Lisa smile (I heard it's crowded too)

really great pics!

I have lived there for 23 years. If I can recommand you something as a parisian. Don't go to the places that are full of tourist unless you want to. The beautiful in Paris is that you can get lost and find beatiful places. I have lived there for 23 years and I am still discovering new things.
If you want to visit the suburbs, I recommand you the Château de Chantilly or the Château de Versailles. But there are too many things to do in Paris that I can describe for hours. Just don't go to certain areas that are not recommand such as the Northe of Paris. 18-19th arrondissement etc. Be ware of your belongings.

Pont de Bir Hakeim bridge is my favorite spot too. It has a great view of the Eiffel.
We had a small photoshoot there last time when we visited Paris.
Nevertheless, this photo is just brilliant!

The city of love!! Beautiful city and photos of course!;-)

Really nice shots @timsaid ....keep it up and I look forward to reading about your adventures

Looks like Paris is still beautiful, considering the hardship it encountered in the recent past. The snaps are the meaning of beauty, you illustrate the architecture and culture so well. I am a tad jealous of your stay I must admit :)
yet, I Must be a sucker for making myself jealous as I want to see more:)
Looking forward to more snaps soon
:]

Very nice post and pictures. When in Paris we stayed in that same area. I just love the way they do the food.
