A moment everyone in town stops for
I wasn't the only one in the city, which it kind of appeared that over half the city had a similar idea of not only to watch the stunning coastal sunset but to go to the same region. There were people flying drones around, pelicans soaring above and locals playing music to celebrate the end of a beautiful day in Colombia.
The town is beautiful with a lot, a lot of historical aspects to it with one area designated as a World Heritage listing. It is beyond impressive and as a result you are met with a mix of old masonry walls and walkways with new skyscraper buildings not too far away.

Cartagena is great, its always nice to watch the sunset from the walls and enjoy the temperature dropping down to more tolerable levels.
If you want to check out a really nice colonial town that is way less touristy you should try to make it to Mompox. Not only is the colonial center in great condition but there is also a pack of howler monkeys that roam through the town. Its a little bit isolated but well worth the trip and isn't too hard to reach from Cartagena.
More tolerable levels for sure! thanks for the heads up - I might make it a point to get to that area sometime tomorrow
