High water level of the river 'Waal' in Tiel, The Netherlands (photo collection)

in #photography6 years ago

I live in a small city called Tiel in The Netherlands which lies against the river 'Waal'.
Usually once a year the water level rises a bit which causes some part to flood.

This year the water lever has risen a bit more than normally due to the melting snow in the rest of Europe so the parts that are normally flooded are way bigger this time.

The sign states : Closed due to rising water.

This was a parking area near the centre.

Normally you can go across the river by ferry as a pedestrian or cyclist.
And this is where you would be waiting

The Cafetaria is already prepared for a flood.

But if you go a bit further along the dike, it gives a pretty scenery which is called 'Uiterwaarde'.

I hope that you've liked the photo's. Be sure to Comment / Vote / Resteem / Follow.
