Walking Your Dog
When walking a dog on a leash, one of the most typical problems is the dog pulling. It may appear that your dog is taking you on a walk, and you aren't far off the mark. It's one of the most unpleasant experiences, and it's often enough to make owners quit walking their dogs or reduce the amount of walks they take. It can cause a lot of worry for the dog owner, as well as a lot of frustration. The good news is that owners can train their dogs to walk alongside them, and any dog can be taught to walk properly on a leash.
I've been fortunate that this is not an issue for me. There are special training collars for these situations and unfortunately you are going to have to brute force a little bit and mix in negative and positive reinforcement. The dog needs to understand that you are the alpha, and at times this might involve being a little bit rough with them. In the end, abandoning walks is the wrong move and so is just letting them run wild.
Dog owners need to be patient and persistent. With time, any dog can be trained. Like the old saying goes: There is no such thing as a bad dog, just bad dog owners.
