Nature Trail - Grotto BaysteemCreated with Sketch.

in #photography7 years ago

The blog preview of what will later be a Dtube video . I packed all my toys as well as a small Cobb cooker (definitely a post on that for my Food theme) and headed off in a general Westerly direction, no specific destination in mind. Just a place to fly my drone, smoke some fresh trout and chill with my book. Alas, alack.... no wine...I was driving !!

After meandering backwards and forth I ended up on the coast and took the first small turning to the left which landed me in Grotto Bay, a small settlement about 35 kilometers outside Cape Town.

There were a couple of horse trailers standing coupled to jeeps and empty. I thought to myself 'What a splendid way to spend the day ... riding horses on the beach and in the nature reserve'

This is the Atlantic Ocean, our coast consisting of both Indian Ocean on the East Coast and Atlantic on the West Coast. I once upon a time did do a blog on the most southerly tip of Africa where the two oceans meet.

And a sneak from the drone footage to end this teaser for the video...

That looks like a legit adventure and I'm sure your quadzillions of fans will appreciate your blog. I did and so curated it for @curangel.

All the best mate. :)

It was a really cool day .... Made me miss being single {smile}....

Thanks for the support and the curation. Much appreciated

I love getting out and about and do it often considering my hobbies. (Hunting, hiking, kayaking, off-roading etc.) I think you South Africans are a lot like Aussies in that you value a lot of those things too. Some anyway.

Good set of hobbies those, I share(d) most of them except the hunting one. And not kayaking but paddleski'ing ... triathlons etc.
Yep, Oz and SA's share sunshine, barbecue sport and sea for sure

Did you have juice to make up for your lack of wine? ;D

Aimless wanderings are just as good as if not better than planned destinations I reckon.

I had some sort of refreshment, but unmemorable...probably my usual H2O. Just after I lost my son I got in my car and spent a month driving and turning down arb roads... I would love to do that again with a sounder frame of mind. I did over 8000 km's and saw aome (in hindsight) amazing places off the beaten track.
