My Ears Are Tired

I used to identify as someone who listened to music. I would spend hours tracking down new bands from far off lands who played all sorts of weird and wonderful sounds. I would endlessly curate my iTunes. I would never go anywhere without my iPod or a pair of earbuds. My life was accompanied by a soundtrack of my own choosing.
I don’t remember the last time I actively sought out recorded music. This isn’t to say I haven’t been buying music, I just haven’t been listening to it. This realisation has made me feel increasingly uncomfortable.
