Etlingera elatior

Etlingera elatior or known as the flowers of ginger, combrang, kanta flowers, Philippina candle flowers and so forth.

Flower pink or kanta flowers used in decorative arrangements, kanta flower , an important element in the dish Nonya, in the city of Medan (especially in the Karo tribe), flower buds are used for boiled fish called fish sticks.

In Bali, people use the white part of the bottom of the stem to cook a sauce called "Sambal Bongkot".
While in Aceh stem of the flower is used to cook vegetables, which is known as Kuah pliek.

Almost all regions certainly know and like to use it as a spice ingredient in the kitchen. However, the name and type of cuisine that is different, especially with its own characteristics respectively.
