Milan Cathedral - the Cathedral in Milan, is located in the historic center of the city.
Built in the style of flaming gothic from white marble. Construction started in 1386, but it was completed only at the beginning of the XIX century. Dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The world famous fifth largest church in the world (after the Council in Yamoussoukro, Rome, London and Seville) is located in the heart of the city and is its symbol. In terms of capacity is inferior to the Gothic temples only Seville, and among the Italian churches - only the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rome. There are only 3,400 statues in the cathedral.

What an amazing building! Makes me wonder why can't modern builders do the same. These days everything is done on the cheap to save money. There's no style in contemporary architecture.
