My photo collection #2 - Black sea urchin (Diadema Antillarum)
Look at those eyes! Isn't it AMAZING!!!
This beautiful creature is called the Diadema Antillarum or better known as the Black sea urchin/Long-spined sea urchin.
I took this pictures when I was at Siquijor Island. This place is abundant with marine life, the sea is well taken care by the locals.
We really need to be extra careful around this guy because once you step on it, it's spine would easily stab your feet. The spine that is inside your skin will continue to sting and it is really difficult to take it out by hand, you would really need a tool to remove it. But there is an easy way to get rid of the pain, and it is by peeing the area that has its spine inside. The pee will kill the spine of the sea urchin and it will not hurt anymore. I personally tried this and it really works. 😁

Note: becareful when you swim in the sea especially when it is rocky because they like to hang out in a rock.
They are also delicious! 😋
They have a firm texture but easily melts inside the mouth, it's taste is unique. It has a rich and creamy sweatness with a little bit of sliminess. I recommend eating it with vinegar and rice!🍴🍚 Whoo! Just thinking about it makes me starving! 😤
Ah! Beautiful. They remind me of Miyazaki's little dust bunnies.

Yep! they sure were there😁.but they didnt have their long arms and legs though

Hey Ted, this is super cool! I have seen them out and about in the ocean but I didn't know you could eat them! Crazy... I couldn't imagine trying to get into one of those things :P
