Saluki - Persian Greyhound - Some Action Shots
Here are some pictures taken on a big field in Berlin/Germany. Salukis are very fast. Actually they are among the fastest dogs worldwide (together with Whippets and Greyhounds). It is a hard task, to take good pictures of them, when they are running.
They are very agile and can run zig zag like a rabbit. Also, compared to other sighthounds they are very enduring.
In their original environment, they would hunt gazelles and hares. In a pack they will also hunt jackals, although they only weigh about 50 pounds. But look at the muscles!
They are pretty much easy-care dogs, except that you have to make sure they get enough free run outside.
They only eat what they need, as they definitely will avoid getting to heavy. They can be somewhat stubborn, and sometimes have a cat-like character. Of course, they like to play around with all types of things, like other dogs too.
