Jump n jumpsuit
My daughter had a little bit of energy tonight and I did say that she doesn't only like to count stuff and read books, she also likes to jump on the bed. It was pretty funny seeing her on a trampoline the other day when she first jumped expecting it to be like a bed.
So, tonight I decided to grab the camera and take a few shots of her jumping on our bed because it is fun for her and, fun for me too. I mentioned in my last post that photography can be a bit of my coping mechanism so for about 20 minutes, it was nice and relaxing and, our daughter loved it, as you can see.
THese shots haven't really been edited but I did have to lighten them a little in the crappy Windows photos app which smashes the pictures. At some point I will run through Lightroom, like the hundreds of other photos waiting for some editing treatment. @kommienezuspadt talks about not having time to edit and he has to take a hell of a lot more time than I do on mine as his finishes are supreme.
Being a hack though means there is no pressure and I can just have a little fun with it. As most know, I nearly exclusively use my own images and while this I feel makes it more representative of my work and adds personal value to me, I don't always have the perfect accompanying image for a topic or, I have to use the same image multiple times. At least, they are mine though =)
As I see it, using my own pictures adds a little bit of myself than just the words can as the viewer sees a bit of my life, where I have been and the way I look at the world through the lens. I think you can tell a fair bit about someone from the images they take and present to the world and as you can see, there are no selfies on my blog... I think...
My daughter is such a character and I love her sense of humor and wit so much. It is weird when parents talk of their children being this and that but, she really is a lot of this and that and I am so looking forward to growing up with her as a parent and getting to know her as an adult. If there is ever a reason to look after myself, it is because I selfishly want to see what she creates from the life she has and whatever tools she can pick up along the way.
For me personally, I would like the adults of tomorrow to have a better chance of successfully negotiating this life than we have created so far but I am not so sure it will get there in time for my daughter as, change moves slowly in this regard and currently, it isn't heading in the right way. At least for her, I believe that the work that we are doing on Steem will provide some opportunity but, will it be enough? What ever it is, it will be what she has to work with and I hope she does her best.
Of course, every parent wants what is best for their children but it isn't always to provide it, it is extremely hard to even know what the best is. Our daughter faces some dietary challenges among a few other things so I wonder sometimes what effect what we can feed will have on her. She eats very well by many people's standards and is yet to have added sugar and preservatives but, also can't eat anything fresh. It must have an effect later in life by my understanding.
But for now, she is as smart as a whip and happy living and learning through her life so, that is parenting success so far.

Investments schmestments. You're already rich.
I agree, I am pretty lucky to have this little one in my life.
Such wonderful moments with your daughter and photography. If only adults could learn from children to enjoy life and not worry.
It is a lot of fun to photograph her do this and each time she gets more confident and improves. At some point, it is going to get dangerous.
Wait til she's big enough to get off the bed that way XD (dropping into a sit on the edge of the bed and bouncing off onto the floor) my big ugly children still get off my bed like that to this day and it still amuses me.
Think my favourite shots are the last solo one (has a nice balance and anti-grav feel to it) and the second last one (seriously nawwwwwww XD) though it's pretty hard to go past the last one as well :)
:D :D
The mother doesn't like us playing like this too often because eventually, it is going to end in some tears but, kids will be kids =D
Awwww the last two pictures will melt even Lord Voldemort's heart
Those two are my favourite too :)
Great photos! I believe we can be the agents of change for their future despite the way society continues to impact their learnings process. I try to lead by example and even with mistakes so that she could learn the difference.

I believe it too and I see the results of those who don't every day. I see a very large gap opening up between the way children are raised and their future results.
Wow. She really look so cute and cute i must say. What a wonderful daughter you have
I am pretty lucky
