Here is my Sanity
Many people see it all as a game but I take a lot of things seriously in this Steemit world. Perhaps it is because people use terms like 'game theory' to explain interaction here but it is kind of a euphemism because what game theory is, is the modelling of conflict and cooperation behaviours generally used for political, economic and psychological manipulation. It is theory on how to elicit or repress predictable behaviours. Not quite 'Monopoly'... or is it?
Anyway, some people seem to be concerned that I take it all too seriously and if I am not careful, I might SNAP, have a mental or physical breakdown and jump off the balcony. You'd like that wouldn't you? Nah, not even close, keep wishing.
The reason I take it seriously is because I do want it to work out. Partly because I have put in a lot of work but mostly because there really is a lot of potential and gain to be made. If people actually did take some of this a little more seriously, most of the problems would already have solutions. But, I will continue on with that later.
Here are some pictures of both why I personally want this place to work out and why I am not going to snap. My daughter is the reason I push so hard and she is the reason I will both not give up nor breakdown. My content is for me, the future is for her. Here are some photos I just took as I went for a walk with her in the forest.
Don't let her bright blue eyes and innocent looking face deceive you. Given the opportunity, she is going to tear this world apart and rebuild it into something that actually works, something that supports my own views or destroys them in their immaturity and naivety. It might not be her though, it could be your child or the children you are going to have that do make this world better.
Of course, it could be her or your children that deliver the final nail in the coffin that seals our fate as a species too. I guess which it is going to be depends on the opportunities and role models we provide for them.
Regardless, for now, I have serious business to think about.

The funny thing is that when she grows up, she will blame her terrible life on me ;)
Possibly...Or maybe not :) I think that at some point, you have to realize that your life is largely due to your own choices...And that you're responsible.
That is what I try to teach her now. It is a way to avoid future blame :)

And yeah, I believe having younger generations really drives older ones to do whatever it takes to make everything better.
Even if our world have a lot of problems, I honestly believe it keeps getting better and better, mostly due to technology innovations. For example, our lives today are much better than our lives in 1980, and so on.
Lives in 2040 will be better than our lives now.

I think this may be true but perhaps (and maybe every generation thinks this) things are changing. Before, there was a lot of active work being done to create and build with many hands needed but, that is quickly chaning to a few thinkers and many sitters. Where does that lead in 40 years?

Just a side note: most of those going on about Game Theory as Applied to Steemit have no understanding of it beyond the single-shot prisoner's dilemma example. Had they studied the rather more complex Evolutionary Game Theory, they would reach different conclusions.
And no, I don't want you to jump of balconies, and I also want it to work out, but I am rapidly losing the faith, so to speak.
Honestly, I need to read up more on game theory. My theory is watch behaviours and you can tell a lot about people.
I am too as wall after wall that could be negotiated is being reinforced. Perhaps there is something in the wings that I don't know about but, this is untenable in its current form.
She's absolutely darling. I know little girls aren't always butterflies and sunflowers though haha. My daughter is turning 6 next week and I miss these years so much. Enjoy them, every one, they grow so fast.
At this point, she is mostly a little smart ass and that is only going to get worse ;)
This is everything. Honestly don't think most parents realize this simple truth. Your kids watch every little thing you do and they pick up on nonverbal ques that you don't even realize you are making. They are a sponge absorbing all of your traits, habits, ethics, and morals.
If you ever want to know what type of person you will be in 5 years look at the people you surround yourself with. You will become a version of them, a blend of them.
For your children you are one of the people they will spend the most time with so you better make sure that time is spent passing on the qualities you want your child to have.
This is the content we surround ourselves with now as so many are disconnected socially. Look at the popular content now and look 5 years down the road.

Nice to check on your content, i like the inspiring word above, they are the leaders of tomorrow. One have to give them a good foundation so that there future will be brighter than that of parent.
