Gone Sunshine, Gone.
The Finnish summer is fickle. One never knows whether it will be full of hot, endless days or endless days of rain.
I don't remember ever having to worry about holiday weather as a child but, on Australia there is no real question if it will be hot or not.
In Finland however, people watch the reports, read the news weather and check their phones every 30 minutes to make sure they have the best chance to replenish vitamin D.
For many years I would laugh at their complaints and justifications for chasing every little bit of sun they can. Sun addicts.
After all of these years, perhaps I am beginning to mimic them.

The image was taken while driving back from another city. Quite beautiful. Thinking back to those few hours... that may have been summer.

Lol no. It is Finland but it is hard to recognise as there is no lake in the picture.
Never been to Finland or Australia. Finland looks a bit like Moscow, Idaho where I live in the U.S. The photo makes Finland look like a paradise. Looks like you used a Gopro lens to take the picture. Nice it is.

When I first came here I thought we would get the odd snow day off like I saw in american movies after huge snowfalls.
Nope. The roads are clear, schools open, business as usual. The airport supposedly has only shut for snow for 30 minutes in the last few decades.
