Exhibition of cats - Maine Coons

I really love cats, but because of the husband's allergy, we can not have them at home. Therefore, one of my great pleasures is visiting cats exhibitions. We were on several of them, which were not very far from our house.
Why do cats exhibit at all? In the world there are more than 100 feline breeds, each of which has its own standard. The exhibition of cats is the only way to determine if a particular cat meets the standard of its breed. Every buyer knows what kind of a kitten he wants to buy and pays money for certain characteristics of a cat. However, most buyers can not tell by the small kitten what breed it really is. To be sure of the breed of the kitten being purchased, the buyer must obtain documents on it. For those who breed certain breeds of cats, these exhibitions help determine how to pick up a breeding pair, from which parents the kittens that are closest to the breed will be born.
If there were no cat shows, sooner or later some breeds would disappear altogether.
At the exhibition there are only the best cats, healthy, well-groomed and well-fed. Visitors see what an animal can look like if it is well looked after.

Today I want to introduce you to one of my most favorite breeds of cats: Maine Coons!!!

The birthplace of Maine Coons is the northwestern state of the United States of America, which is called Maine. The name of the breed of these cats comes from the name of the state. Due to the color of the wool, the powerful build and the huge tail, these cats looked like raccoons (literally "maine's raccoon." "Maine" is the state of Maine, "coon" is the second part of the word "raccoon). Maine Coons lived on farms; Farmers paid tribute to their size and excellent hunting qualities.

It is not only a very beautiful animal with a large muscular body and very expressive eyes, but also an animal that has acquired a special character. These cats are always ready to help. Curious and cute, they do not correspond to their large size. Among domestic cats is a large breed: males can have a mass of 15 kilograms, females up to 8 kilograms.

Maine Coon kittens are very playful and funny. We saw how at one of the exhibitions they had fun, running after the feather on the mistress's wand. This feather very much helped, when the kitten was posing for us :) It directed it towards the camera :)

The hosts are very fond of their pets and were happy to talk about them when we asked them. It was clear that the pets themselves are very fond of their owners :)
