Chernobyl in 2017

  • Me at Prypyat swimming pool.

Last week I was in the exclusion zone of Chernobyl (Ukraine) - mainly to take some photographs. I participated in a 2-day-tour and saw alot of stuff (military complex, schools, prypyat, hospitals, self settlers, ...). Anyone of you ever was in Ukraine or Chernobyl? The country is quite different, to what Iam used to in Germany. Hourly Wage in Kiew is 2,2€ and the highest bill are 500 hryvnia (about 17€).

If you have any questions about my tour or so, just ask me!

Famous Prypyat Ferris Wheel. The park was supposed to open on May 1st 1986 - it never did.

Me in the cinema of Prypyat. It was very dark in there. I had to sit very still, while my camera took this picture within 10 seconds of exposure.

In a Hospital on the military complex of Duga-Radar-Station.

Quite destroyed class-rooms at the Duga-Military-Complex. You can still see a chalkboard, tables, posters.

Gas-Maks in an elementary school in Prypyat. These often functioned as accomodation for liquidators, who had to "clean up" after the incident.
