Perceptions of Decay | URBEXING the Candy Factory
Wasawasawasa my SteemNation?! 💪

There is this abandoned candy factory in my city which I had the pleasure of being able to explore a couple years ago. It was sort of a local attraction for photographers in the area since there's not really that much cool stuff to explore here. Let me share some stories about my friend before we get to the pics...
My friend had the opposite experience of my urbexing in there - he got the cops called on him. He told me that even though he did what the cops said, they still basically sicked their dog on him which ripped his pants and he said he felt so embarrassed being taken away half naked. At a later date, I brought in my friend Monica to do a photoshoot in this building - I only heard about his story afterwards. This was the same guy that was doing a solargraphy project where he was leaving pinhole cameras in various locations around town and doing extremely long exposures, days, weeks if not months. This resulted in one of his cameras being identified as a 'bomb' by some random passerby and having the bomb disposal unit come in and take it off. In all fairness, that was just three days after the Boston Bombings so I guess I can understand people might be nervous - although apparently he had a sign posted next to it saying "THIS IS A PINHOLE CAMERA." However, I guess if you think you see a bomb you're no going to go up and read the fine print. This is also the same guy that while spinning steel wool, had a chunk of it come down and land on his scalp, giving him a bald spot. Luckily, my photographic adventures have been much more serene than my friend... And as far as I know, he hasn't had any misfortunes as of late either.

Reflections and Perspective in Solitude

Amazing Photography Brother @synrg. I love photography as well. Many photos coming soon as I pick up my Fiance Vanja and Son David at LAX airport tomorrow. They are flying in from Moi Norway. It is going to be a World of Video and Photos coming soon. May you always be blessed.
Although I can appreciate the fear and craziness of your friends experience, it made me chuckle. I needed a good laugh this morning. Awesome shots. I like the reflections best. There is Just something about looking at things from a different perspective, that is completely compelling to me. Rock on!
Haha!!!! I know. Really bad luck for the guy, but I think since things have calmed down for him. No more bomb scares or getting assaulted by police dogs. And glad you like that reflection picture as well, it's my favourite as well. I'll see if I can get another set up in the next day with a similar type vibe, from a different abandoned place. Thanks for the love!! 🙏
Sweet. Looking forward to seeing them.
great shots rust never sleeps
