"This study is important because it tells us how intricate the flower is, now the task is to look for something similar to the reconstruction of the fossil record," said Jason Hilton of the University of Birmingham who is also involved in the study.

All the flowers in the world come from an ancestor that lived 140 million years ago. Through a scientific reconstruction, scientists from Universite Paris-Saud managed to uncover the beauty of the ancestor's face.

Herve Sauquet and his team analyzed 792 species of existing flower species and mapped their spread in the evolutionary tree. Then, they predict what kind of ancestors last.

The results of reconstruction show, the ancestor of all flowers have a crown that is arranged in a circle and in one area, resembling the crown of lilies.
