SteemStarGazing thread: Upvotes for your photos of the January 20-21 lunar eclipse
In just over an hour, a lunar eclipse will be visible to people in North America, South America, and many parts of Europe.

The phases of the eclipse will occur as follows:
You can read more about it here.
We thought it would be fun to get photos from all around Steem and gather them together in one place. So, if the eclipse is visible for you, take some photos of it and post your best ones in the comments here. If the local cloud cover permits, we'll be doing the same.
@remlaps and @cmp2020 have paused two of our accounts that are normally reserved for bot voting in order to dedicate that voting power to up-vote eclipse photos in this post's comments on Monday and Tuesday. At full power, the two accounts give out about 0.25 SBD per vote, so if we get enough photos of the eclipse in comments, we'll be directing about 5 SBD in rewards to Steem's Stargazers.
@trang and I have been viewing the lunar eclipse from her telescope in Philadelphia. Can't wait for the eclipse to end so we can watch the return of the lunar illumination. We tried taking a picture but couldn't get the phone to capture the telescope's view.
It's hard to get photos through a telescope without the right hardware. We tried with @astronomyizfun's telescope and a cell phone on a tripod last year in Cherry Springs and we couldn't do it. He found some sort of adapter for it now, though, and he's getting some really nice photos with his cell phone and telescope.
I was glad the sky cleared up in West Chester. I was afraid we would miss the eclipse, but the clouds broke up in time for us to see most of it. It's cold and windy out there!

I didn't manage to get any good photos that were zoomed in on the moon during the total eclipse, but these show the moon surrounded by stars in the dark sky during the total phase of the eclipse. In the first photo, the moon is at the top-left, with Orion in the bottom-center. In the second photo, the moon is in center of frame against a backdrop of stars. (click to enlarge)
