For 14 years, Photographer Sergio Tapiro Took Over 300,000 Photos of Mount Colima.
At night it used to be like this
And during to day the it used to appear so calm, But Sergio knew that a volcano is rumbling inside and it can erupt anytime and he needs to be there to capture it with his lens.
He said " El secreto es esperar el momento adecuado, tener paciencia y conocer tanto el entorno como lo que está sucediendo dentro del volcán. "
Translation: The secret is to wait for the right moment, to have patience and to know both the surroundings and what is happening inside the volcano.
THEN finally one day his patience and dedication paid off and it finally erupted.
Sergio won the International Photo Contest of 2016 held by National Geographic.
