Stars Amongst Us
Often times, we don’t stop to take a look at what’s around us. And if you live in a big city, you almost certainly never get the chance to see the stars at night.
This shot was taken on my way to Wilmington, NC. I was driving at night, and noticed a sky full of stars. I pulled over, put my camera on the ground, propped the lens up with a piece of cardboard, set it to a larger exposure time, and took the shot.
The red glare on the road is the effect from my brake lights. This was taken with my Nikon D5200 with the 18-55mm kit lens.
This is very true! This was taken on a night I was very distracted and somewhat upset. I looked up and was instantly memorized. Light pollution is a real thing and it makes me sad for what that means for most of us and the night sky. :(

What did u think about the super blue moon eclipse which happened this morning? Where u able to see it from Washington?
Instant Resteem.
The effect in the photo is unreal.
I am gonna put this photo as my wallpaper for sure.
Marvelous click :)
Where I live, the sky and moon are inescapable. The moon (in summer) can show up during the day around 2 pm, and the stars are so easy to spot that you can see the milky way without having to go to some remote location or observatory (literally we can just step out our back door and see it). It's beautiful and I won't give it up for anything if I can help it.
Great photo, sometimes all that is needed in life is to find a really dark place and just stare up into the stars. And being many of us live in and around big cities, we don't appreciate what is right above our heads.
Awesome effect from the lights, almost looks like embers on the road. Reminds me of driving out of the wildfires in British Columbia into perfectly clear skies and suddenly feeling relieved, strange how it was suddenly perfectly clear. Was the scariest driving I had ever done wish I had the clarity of mind to wip out my phone and record!
That is true, some times it is very important that we appreciate nature and give thanks to GOD for his wondrous and wonderful act as gifts to mankind.. Can you see how beautiful that photo looks, who in the world can make things beautiful like God? Well done for that idea appreciating the hand works of God and sharing it. You are blessed
I like that tail light effect...I see a Lightroom Preset pack coming....
I think this is beautiful! However, I am a bit bias when it comes to the sky or solarsyatem in general! I have always been one to stop and tell everyone to "look at the sky" I am sure I sound crazy sometimes because I am so random, but to me there is nothing more beautiful than what is naturally occurring above us & you are so right about most people not getting the opportunity to see something that beautiful living in the city, I live in Dallas...so yeah it is all about that skyline! I am just far enough out though that some nights when it is very clear, my kids and I lay on the trampolime and look at the constellations we can make out! You took an amazing photo! I would absolutely put that on my wall!
wow so many!
