Crater Lake, Oregon

Crater Lake is a beautiful lake in Oregon, which was formed by the collapse of a volcano. After the volcano erupted the top of the mountain fell into the crater. This forms the large island in the center of the lake. The lake is filled entirely by snow melt and rain. Incidentally, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States.

Despite all the snow, these pictures were actually taken in mid summer.
